HEAT PUMPS

Industrial processes consume considerable energy from two primary sources to produce their products. The mechanical refrigeration applied in the processing and preservation of products consumes electrical energy, while the hot water supplied for cleaning, cooking and heating the process uses mostly fossil fuels.
The considerable amount of energy absorbed by ammonia in industrial refrigeration is generally discarded into the atmosphere as wasted heat. This rejected heat has the potential to compensate and significantly reduce the amount of fossil fuels required to produce hot water in the plant.
With the growing interest in conserving energy and water, industrial processors are taking better advantage of the waste heat from cooling systems using the latest innovations in compressor technology and optimizing the use of their resources.
Users recognize the enormous potential of applying industrial heat pumps to their processes and convert waste heat into usable heat, which is achieved by using the high-pressure capacity of single screw compressor technology.
Vilter has expanded the line of single screw compressors with the addition of compressor models for high pressure heat pumps. These compressor units with structures made of nodular / ductile iron or cast steel, are capable of operating with ammonia at extremely high condensation temperatures. Incorporated in the existing ammonia refrigeration systems, the heat pump compressors provide a great utilization of energy and convert the rejected heat into hot water up to 195°F.
High-pressure heat pump compressors maintain the design advantages inherent to single- screw, balanced forces for long life, parallel sliding valves for maximum performance in full or partial load operation, and superior reliability to any two-screw compressor.
