STATIC FREEZING TUNNELS AND TROLLEY FREEZER

The static freezing tunnels designed by Alfrio allow the freezing of food (whole) by potholes or production batches; after a few hours of permanence inside the tunnel the product reaches the required temperature and is ready to receive a new batch. For these freezing systems, high speed and low air temperature evaporators are selected, generally operating with recirculated ammonia and Vilter screw or piston compressors, they can also be designed to operate with freon when product loads are low.

Static freezing tunnels turn out to be the most economical investment for a plant, compared to the investment of IQF and trolley freezer systems. However, once the plants reach very high production levels, the other freezing systems are taken into account so as not to generate bottlenecks in production.
Tunnels are calculated to operate with certain specific product conditions, however it is possible to make adjustments of operating parameters to freeze other products, and this is a typical case that occurs in large refrigerators that provide freezing service.
